"Behold, I am making Jerusalem a cup of poison for all the peoples all around...."
~ Zechariah, chapter 12
Trump to recognize Jerusalem as Israel capital, delay embassy move
President Donald Trump will recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital on Wednesday, while also delaying moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to the holy city, officials told NBC News.
Though Trump will not relocate the embassy any time soon — one White House official told reporters it could take years — the president still intends to fulfill that promise made early in his administration.
Senior administration officials called Trump's expected recognition of Jerusalem an affirmation of "reality" — both historical and current, pointing out that the city is already home to Israel's parliament, supreme court and other government sites.
So, today is the big day for the "yuuuge" announcement. But, it's apt to be a bit anticlimactic considering the pre-announcements going out in the media.

The cat is already out of the bag. According to official sources, Trump is going to admit that (West) Jerusalem already is and has been Israel's capital since the founding of the state. Nothing new there. He won't say "West" of course, but it is understood from the context. That still leaves "East" Jerusalem for the capital of "Palestine," so the Arabs have no real reason to get upset, but when did that ever stop them? All they are looking for is an excuse.

Since it will reportedly take four to five years to build the new embassy, Trump will be signing that waiver every six months until then, as the move from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem can't possibly take place before that time. (See also here.) If Mashiach has not come by then, there will no doubt be a new president in office.

In reality, it appears as though nothing at all will have substantially changed after Trump's speech, but judging by the hue and cry arising all over the globe today, maybe they still know something we don't.

CNN is reporting that US troops are being readied to confront any trouble at US embassies and installations worldwide.

Trump's speech is scheduled for 1:00 pm EST (8:00 pm IST).

i24NEWS is live-blogging this "historic event," which could become even bigger than anyone imagined.

  1. People writing and commenting about this keep saying "united" capital. I don't believe Trump will ever use that word to describe Jerusalem. Wait and see.

    1. Recognizing (West) Jerusalem as Israel's capital paves the way for allowing (East) Jerusalem to be the capital of "Palestine." Imagine if Trump pulls off this "recognition" without major trouble from the Arabs - it will be a major breakthrough in the peace process!! He will be hailed as a genius negotiator and the Europeans will look stupid and be forced to concede and get on board.

The whole world (including "moderate" Arab nations) will accept this as fair and equitable and we will be coerced to agree, because, after all, we wanted this "recognition", right? How can we deny the Palestinians the same thing? It'll be a trap.

But, make no mistake, the Old City will still be expected to become internationalized with the Pope in charge of it, just like the UN proposed in 1947. Neither Jews nor Arabs will be allowed to have it if this thing comes off as planned.

    2. I should, however, add that none of this will come to fruition. HKB"H won't let it, but this IS what Eisav and Yishmael want.

    3. No matter what, it will all be for our ultimate good. No power on earth can separate us from Yerushalayim.

  3. According to Hamas’ charter, which outlines key principles and policies, the terror group aims to establish a state of Palestine “with Jerusalem as its capital” and states that “not one stone” of the city can be given up.

“Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine. Its religious, historic and civilizational status is fundamental to the Arabs, Muslims and the world at large. Its Islamic and Christian holy places belong exclusively to the Palestinian people and to the Arab and Islamic Ummah,” the charter reads.

“Not one stone of Jerusalem can be surrendered or relinquished. The measures undertaken by the occupiers in Jerusalem, such as Judaization, settlement building, and establishing facts on the ground are fundamentally null and void.”

Why are most people, and specifically Jews, so obvliious to the Arab goals? (The only difference between Hamas and Fatah, is that Fatah is more patient.)

Interesting that they include "Christians" here. So absurb that there are those who actually buy these lying regarding the Jewish connection to Eretz Yisrael. Furthermore, why isn't anyone actually doing anything [substantial] about making this claim?

  4. OMG!! He hasn't done anything yet and no one even knows what he is going to say!

"Jerusalem's Bridge of Strings at the city entrance is illuminated in red, white, and blue in anticipation of President Trump's statement that will formally recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital."

"Jerusalem Old City walls to be lit up with US flag following Trump's speech"

"Samarian Regional Council head Yossi Dagan delievered a letter of support to the White House thanking President Trump for recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital. The letter was signed by 250 leading Israeli rabbis, including Chief Sephardic Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef and Rabbi Haim Druckman."

  5. This is a very thought-provoking article about the deeper possibly negative consequences of Trump's declaration.
